What Naples actually banned
The City of Naples amended its noise ordinance so that from October 21, 2021, gas powered leaf blowers were prohibited in the city, along with electric and battery blowers louder than 65 dBA. Pressure washers were not part of it.
The city enforced it. By 2024 a city code compliance manager said his team had issued 74 citations and 230 written warnings for banned blowers.
The 2026 Florida law
Florida SB 290 was signed on March 23, 2026 and took effect July 1, 2026. It says a city "may not enact or enforce" any rule that "restricts or prohibits the use of" gas powered landscape equipment. The same limit applies to counties.
The law defines that equipment as gasoline or diesel machines used for landscape upkeep or to move leaves, dirt, grass or other debris off sidewalks, driveways, lawns or other surfaces. Whether a pressure washer counts is not spelled out. Either way, pressure washers were never named in the Naples ban.
We did not find any news on how Naples is handling its blower rule since the state law took effect, so check with the city if you run a gas blower.
What still matters for a Naples home
Two things to keep in mind. HOA rules are separate from the state law, so check yours. And a full pressure machine, gas or electric, is the wrong tool for a tile roof.
Eagle Roofing says to clean its concrete tile with water only and never above 1,200 PSI. That is why we soft wash roofs at low pressure with a cleaning solution, and save pressure for the drive and pavers.
